Sappada/ITA host of WMA Annual Meeting
October 1, 2024 The annual meeting of The World Masters Cross-Country Ski Association will take place from 3-6 October 2024 in Sappada/ITA with the participation of delegates from 21 member countries. Sappada, in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region, belongs to the province of Udine and is not far from the Austrian border. The small municipality in the Dolomites, organizer of the Masters World Cup 2026, is located at an altitude of 1200 m and is very pleased to host the annual meeting of the WMA.
The inspection of the venue occupies a special place in the WMA's programme. The delegates will inspect the tracks, the stadiums, the required infrastructure and the various accommodations. The Masters World Cup will be held from January 29 to February 6, so that the participants will then have the opportunity to travel as spectators to the various venues of the Winter Olympics in Italy.
Another important item on the agenda is the Masters World Cup in Klosters/SUI from March 10-15, 2025. Here we will receive an update from the OC on the current status of the organization and the booking of accommodation. Registrations are already possible and, as usual, can be made via www.datasport.com. T
Tromsoe in the far north of Norway has applied for the MWC in 2027. Representatives of the organizing committee will present the application and the delegates will then vote on it.
For MWC 2028, too, they are already talking about absolutely interesting destinations and hope to be able to present a definitive applicant soon.
Other items on the agenda are finances and the election of the auditors. Italy is thus the only host country to host the Master World Cup for the 5th time. In 1981 it was Dobbiaco for the first time, followed by Folgaria, Brusson and Asiago
