Deep mourning about the death of Elin Naalsund/NOR

28 September 2022    On August 11 we in Masters Langrenn Norway received the shocking and unbelievable news that our cassier and secretary of the board for twenty years, Elin Naalsund, had passed away. She died suddenly during training.

As we informed our members on social media the condolences started to flow in. All members expressed sadness and were shocked, she was well know by many of our members. Elin was a key person in Masters Langrenn Norway. She has been member of the board since 2002, and therefore she represented continuity in the organization. She had control of all accounting, all membership register and membership fees and cooperated with travel agencies when we travelled to MWC in Europe and overseas. By mail and telephone a lot of different inquiries from our members were taken care of by Elin. She has really been the glue in our organization.

Elin participated in many WMA meetings as representative of Norwegian Masters, and also many Master World Cups around the world. She had many friends among Masters from different nations. Elin was a very kind and nice person, inclusive and always socialising. For many of us in the Norwegian Masters Elin was a good friend, always very helpful and engaged for the cross country sport for Masters.

Elin leaves behind husband, two grownup children, grand children and even greatgrand children. Elin is deeply missed in our organization. But in our grief we can also bring back all the good memories, all the nice experiences we had with Elin together with the Norwegian Masters.
