New Relay Rules as of MWC 2020

At the request of Arne Stonor, DEN, it was decided at the 2019 Annual Meeting in Canmore by WMA Board Members to modify the paragraph "Relays"  in the official competition rules. A new distinction is made between so-called "regular" relay teams and relay teams, which are made up of participants from different nations (any combination of nations is possible), but only regular relay teams are eligible for medals.

The most important change is that in the future only one participant - previously two - will have to belong to the registered age group. This regulation also allows smaller nations to form relay teams. The respective age group of a relay team is based on the age group of the youngest participant.

This new rule occurs for the first time at the Masters World Cup from 6th to 14th March 2020 in Cogne.
