27 Nations competing at MWC 2024 in Vuokatti

30 January 2024      The registration deadline for the Masters World Cup, which will be held in Vuokatti/FIN from February 10-16, 2024, has closed. Participants from 27 nations have registered for the 42nd edition of the Masters World Cup.

As expected, the host country has the largest contingent with 225 athletes, followed by the USA with 58, Switzerland with 34 and Norway with 31. 44% of the athletes have registered for the classic technique competitions, while 56% have opted for the free technique. In contrast to the MWC in 2014,

The 548 athletes can expect a new stadium in a new location and different courses. The first day of competition is on Sunday, February 11, when the middle distance races (20, 15 and 10 km) will take place. The competitions continue on Monday with the short-distance races (10 and 5 km), the relays on Thursday and end on Friday with the long-distance races (30, 20 and 15 km) in free technique. They will take place on the grounds of the Vuokatti Sport Institute, which offers a wide range of sporting opportunities. The Sport Institute is particularly important for the Finnish Ski Association, which uses it as a national training center.
